Once the recces and the technical scrutineerings have finished, this Thursday the focus will be laid on the road with the fight in the qualifying stage of Valsequillo. The results will help to set the starting order of the first leg.

The participant teams of the 43rd Edition Rally Islas Canarias have completed the leg recces which will make up the second stage - the one the drivers will be competing for on Saturday 4th May - during the session of this Wednesday. Drivers and co-drivers have taken good notice of the special routes timed of ‘Arucas-DISA’ (7.18 km), ‘Moya-Festina’ (15.28 km), Gáldar (13.75 km) and ‘Valleseco’ (14.57 km).

The festive nature of the public holiday on the First of May has contributed to the attendance of many fans and curious people to the surroundings of the Edificio Miller and the Plaza de Canarias, who have been able to see the assistants work on the teams as they were getting the cars ready for the scrutineerings and especially for the day after. Actually many of them will be taking part in the ‘free practice’ (9.00 am) next Thursday and in the next qualifying stage (11.45 am), the result of which will determine the selection of the starting positions. This will take place from 5.00 pm onwards at the podium of Rally Islas Canarias. From 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm this very same leg of 3.15 kilometers will serve other national and regional teams to perform the shakedown.

After the selection of the starting positions, the press conference open to the public will take place (beginning at 5.30 pm) near the exit ramp and finishing line, and right after that the autograph signings of the international, national and Canarian teams. This very same setting, namely, the Parque Santa Catalina, will host the opening ceremony in the late afternoon, beginning at 8.30, and which may last until the night with all the participant teams passing under the emblematic arch of Rally Islas Canarias.
