The interior of the Gran Canaria Arena will host the first stage of the 47 Rally Islas Canarias

The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria – DISA Super Special Stage, which will open the 47th Rally Islas Canarias at 9:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 4, will have Gran Canaria Arena as an exceptional ally. Participants will go inside, make a donut, and go outside again to continue the route.


The 47 Rally Islas Canarias reveals its best kept secret. If in the recent past of the event the Gran Canaria Arena was the protagonist when hosting the start and finish ceremonies, now its facilities will host the passage of the spectacular special stage that will raise the curtain of this edition. Giving another twist to the experience of 2022, when its surroundings heard the roar of the engines, the participants will start the competition in the Gran Canaria Arena itself. They will do so a few hundred meters after having started the first special stage, 'Las Palmas de Gran Canaria - DISA', set for 9:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 4. Its entrance to the venue will be spectacular, something that fans will be able to enjoy, with free admission, from the seats of the fabulous island venue. Soon, the organization will reveal how to get them.

The participants registered in this edition will make a donut in the center of the court, to return to the outside and continue with the nearly 2 km route of this first special stage.

Coinciding with the announcement of this sensational secret, which has been guarded with great care to surprise the thousands of fans this event has, the organization of the 47 Rally Islas Canarias halaunched a promotional spot. The participation of Khalifa Diop, a professional player from CB Gran Canaria, shooting baskets from the center of the court, is combined with the entry into action of Armide Martín and Emma Falcón, who on board a Skoda Fabia Rally2 have simulated the skills that the teams they must be held on the night of May 4.

The Rally Islas Canarias thanks the Insular Sports Institute of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria, the CB Gran Canaria, its player Khalifa Diop, as well as Armide Martín and Emma Falcón for their collaboration in this spot.
