The FIA has authorized the extension of this period. Many of the main teams have already entered for the event that will take place in Gran Canaria from November 26 to 28. After the rallies of this weekend, Alexey Lukyanuk is the leader of the FIA ERC and Pepe López, who defends the victory achieved in 2019, will do the same in a tight CERA.

The Rally Islas Canarias is two weeks away from entering its big week and just one week away from its official presentation, which will take place on Monday, November 16 in the press room of the Gran Canaria Arena, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. By that time, the organizing committee will already know the number and names of those entered for this 44th edition of the European event. Recently, the FIA has authorized the extension of the entries period, which goes from the 11th to the next 14th. In this way, the teams that intend to participate in this event of the FIA ERC, the CERA, the S- CER and the rest of the local competitions have a little more time to comply with this procedure. In accordance with the established COVID protocols, all teams coming from the Peninsula and the rest of the continental European territory must prove that they have carried out a test and that the result is negative. On the other hand, the FIA European Rally Championship held its appointment in Hungary this past weekend, just the previous one before landing in Gran Canaria. There, the Norwegian Andreas Mikkelsen and his co-driver Ola Floene imposed their Skoda Fabia R5. The championship leaders, after four races, are Alexey Lukyanuk and Dmitry Eremeev (Citroën C3 R5).

The Spanish Championship and the Superchampionship were also protagonists last Saturday. The Rally La Nucía saw the victory of José A. Suárez-Alberto Iglesias's Skoda Fabia R5, achieving essential points to close the gap against the provisional leaders, Pepe López-Borja Rozada. Those of the Citroën C3 R5 will defend their leadership in the CERA upon their arrival in Canary Islands, in addition to their triumph in the Rally Islas Canarias in 2019. On the other hand, the Superchampionship will celebrate one more event before its culmination in Gran Canaria between 26 and November 28.
