The enrolled teams in the Rally Islas Canarias recognize the stages of the first leg Featured

The rally puts one more gear and, two days away from its official start, the day of Tuesday May 1st has served for drivers and co-drivers to recognize the stages of the first leg and for their teams to take positions in the service park.


The 42nd edition of the Rally Islas Canarias is about to take off. It will be on Thursday starting at 8:30 p.m. from the Santa Catalina Park in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, when the flag will be given to the first of the teams that will take the start. But before this happens, drivers and co-drivers have to recognize the seven special stages, which they´ll have to march on double pass during the legs of Friday and Saturday. 

The day of May 1st has been taken advantage by more than ninety teams in order to recognize the special stages of the first leg, including the Super Special Stage of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria which, as a novelty, this year will be traced twice. It is one of the many attractions offered by a trail full of novelties and in which the municipalities of Valsequillo, San Mateo, Artenara, Arucas, Moya and Gáldar are also represented. We can´t forget Ingenio and Telde, which will host as headquarters the free practice, qualifying stage and the shakedown of Thursday, May 3.

Drivers and co-drivers will hurry on Wednesday May 2 to complete the reconnaissances of the three stages of the last leg, while in the Miller Building the press room will be put into operation with the accreditations delivery. Paralelly, the FIA ​​vehicles will proceed to the verification in the Santa Catalina Park already with an eye on the free practice, the qualifying stage and the shakedown.
