Tejeda - San Mateo, penultimate special stage on Saturday

Tejeda - San Mateo is the third special stage of Saturday, April 26th, a double-pass and has 23.30 kilometres. It is placed as the ninth and twelfth special stage of the Rally Islas Canarias - Rally of Spain. This is the penultimate special stage on Saturday, the finishing touch will be the show section Las Palmas de Gran Canaria passing inside the basketball stadium Gran Canaria Arena.

 

The rally's organising committee has announced the spectators areas set up on this section, the spectator car parks, the bus service, as well as the road closure times for this special stage.

Monday, 3 March 2025. Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

 

Tejeda-San Mateo starts from the town centre of Tejeda on Saturday 26th April on a technical and fast route and, after passing the Ayacata crossroads, begins the steep climb to Roque Nublo, arriving at the crossroads of Los Llanos de La Pez. Right there begins a descent of good asphalt, wide and firm to the finish line in the municipality of San Mateo in Cueva Grande, very fast, with braking and steep paellas to the finish line.

 

Total distance Tejeda-San Mateo: 23.30 kilometres.

Timetable

From 30 minutes before the start of the Tejeda - San Mateo special stage on the two runs, the road must be kept clear for the safety caravan to carry out its work. Compliance with this FIA rule is essential for the celebration of the timed section and is applicable to all the stages of the rally.

 

- Road closure time: Friday 25th April (previous day) at 22.00 h. From this time the special stage will be closed to traffic for non-residents of the area.

 

- Safety caravan time: from 6:30 a.m. vehicles belonging to the safety caravan will be circulating, checking the set-up of the sections and verifying the correct location of the public.

 

- Time of passage of the first participant: 10:58 Canary Islands time.

 

- Time for the first competitor to pass on his second run: 17:58 Canary Islands time.

 

These times may be subject to change at the discretion of the race director.

 

RULES FOR THE LOCATION OF THE SPECTATORS (these rules apply to all the timed sections of the 49th Rally Islas Canarias).

 

1.- Only the areas marked with yellow tape and signage are suitable for the location of the public.

2 .- The areas marked with red tape and signage are prohibited for the location of public.

3.- It is not allowed to walk along the stretch from 30 minutes before the start of the first participant.

4.- The FIA safety delegate, from the race direction, monitors live the location of the public on the section through the onboard cameras of the safety caravan and the participants. In the event that the safety rules are not being respected, the stage will be stopped, which could lead to its cancellation. We ask for the maximum cooperation of the public for a correct and safe development of the event.

  • Parking San Mateo. The departure of the service starts at 3:00 a.m. on the first run of the section, on the second run at 13:00. 30 minutes after passing the broom car, the same unloading area for passengers before the start of the section will be used as a pick-up point to return to the car parks/launchers. The return timetable starts at 13:00 for the first run and at 20:00 for the second run.
