The current champion of the FIA European Rally Championship (ERC) opens an official entry list that has a total of 33 vehicles in the Rally2 category. Nearly 100 teams have entered for an event that will be held from May 2 to 4 on the island of Gran Canaria. One of the great novelties is in the start ceremony, which is moved to Wednesday, May 1 and changes its location without leaving Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The driver from Asturias and his wingman Alberto Iglesias achieved the best results in a session that will establish the start order of the leg which begins this evening with the Super Special Stage 'Las Palmas de Gran Canaria'. The French team Yoann Bonato-Benjamin Boulloud and the Hungarians Miklós Csomós-Attila Nagy finished second and third respectively completing the top three with a difference of just two tenths of a second.
