The WRC3 FIA World Rally Champion, Rogelio Peñate, becomes the ambassador of the Rally Islas Canarias. The president of the Organizing Committee of the Rally Islas Canarias, Germán Morales, has met with the co-driver from Gran Canaria to close the agreement. 

As ambassador, Rogelio Peñate will give visibility, around the world, the Rally Islas Canarias. The Rally Islas Canarias will be celebrated from 24 to 27 April 2025 and, for the first time, will be an FIA World Rally Championship event. 

Rogelio Peñate: “Competing in 13 FIA WRC events is an advantage to be able to take the Rally Islas Canarias around the world and tell all the virtues of what is undoubtedly the best tarmac rally in the world.” “I’m delighted to be an ambassador for the rally where I was born as a sportsman”. 

 

The organization of the Rally Islas Canarias takes out a package of financial aid aimed at drivers canaries to encourage their participation in the world championship event. In this sense, they have set some ‘special’ prices of registration to the event for the canary pilots, in relation to the registration prices of the rest of participants.

Given the importance of the arrival of the FIA WRC Rally Islas Canarias, the organization wants to promote the presence of Canarian sport and its athletes in the world-class event, as it could not be otherwise.

The municipality of La Aldea will be part of the route of the Rally Islas Canarias in 2025, a qualifying event for the World Rally Championship (FIA World Rally Championship). This Monday have met, Germán Morales, Promoter and President of the Organizing Committee of the Rally Islas Canarias; Víctor Hernández, Mayor of La Aldea ‘de San Nicolás’; Ulises Afonso, Alderman of Sports of La Aldea; and Jose Ángel Batista, director of the Rally Islas Canarias.


The City Council of La Aldea and the Rally Islas Canarias have drawn up a plan so that the residents of the area are fully informed of the road closures and schedules.

Davinia Falcón Marrero, Mayoress of the Vega de San Mateo Town Council, and Miguel Enrique Reyes Vega, Councillor for Accessibility and Transport; Safety and Traffic; and Sports, have met with Germán Morales, President of Todo Sport (the entity that organises this world-class event) and President of the Rally Organising Committee, to discuss the next edition. 

Rally Islas Canarias WRC 2025 confirms its dates, marking a historic milestone by joining the FIA World Rally Championship. The event, which will take place from April 24 to 27, promises to be thrilling with three stages and a minimum of 300 timed kilometers, further establishing its prestige on the international stage.


The final chapter in the FIA ​​European Rally Championship was quite a spectacle on the road.
